The UPRA welcomes the PAFRA (Professional Armed Forces Rodeo Association).

According to PAFRA President Bruce McCormick, due to deployments many members are not getting an opportunity to enter enough rodeos in the PAFRA. "Some of the guys are getting back from overseas late in the season, they don't have enough rodeos to get qualified for the finals. If we can offer additional rodeos it will give members of PAFRA an additional opportunity to get to the finals."

Beginning immediately PAFRA members can enter UPRA ground rule rodeos on their PAFRA membership cards.

"We'd be happy to have the members of the Armed Forces rodeo with us, compared to what these men and women do and have done for each and every one of us and our country, this is the least we can do for them", UPRA President James Heflin.

The 2005 Professional Armed Forces Rodeo Association Finals will be held in Fort Worth, Texas at the Historic Stockyards.

The purposes for which the Professional Armed Forces Rodeo Association was organized:

      a. To act as a non-profit, non-political and non-denominational organization for the purpose of rodeo as a sport, striving at all times to insure honesty and fairness to both the contestants and the producers; to create an amicable relationship between committees, stock contractors and contestants; and to sanction and advertise rodeos being sponsored in accordance with Association standards.

     b. To cultivate interest and promote understanding to the public of the sport of rodeo, with emphasis upon the military cowboy around the world.
